1) Unlocking the Future of Banking with AI: Generating Synthetic Financial Data

How can AI generate realistic financial data while ensuring privacy? In banking, privacy laws limit access to real data, but AI can create safe, shareable synthetic transactions. This talk covers GANs, VAEs, and GDMs, how we assess their effectiveness, and their impact. By the end, you’ll understand how these models help banks enhance applications while protecting real customer data.

Sok-Yee has a background in engineering and started her career in academia, specializing in orthopedic biomechanics. She later transitioned to industry, where she works as a data scientist at Aboitiz Data Innovation, focusing on fintech projects. As a member of the AI Centre of Excellence team, she contributes to driving research and development to foster innovation within the Aboitiz Group. Her work primarily revolves around graph analytics, geospatial analytics, and capability development.

Davis is currently a visiting researcher at SUTD, focusing on digital forensics and cybercrime research. His interests currently include space, cybersecurity, threat hunting and of course cyber threat intelligence. Outside of work, you can find him at the west coast archery range, travelling or hiking.
